You know how some people say "God Don't Like Ugly?"

I'm going to say that winning at Iowa State can be an untenable proposition. With little history and at least 4 challenging conference games per year? I can see 5-19 happening in those two years to a Saban or a Stoops.

That being said? Of all the coaches available? Gene Chizik is one of them.

His defensive skills are pretty solid as a playcaller. But you know what? There's a reason Auburn was the winner of that 3-2 shootout. And consider the fact that the talent level at Auburn wasn't spectacular on paper this season. What kind of a recruiting class is Chizik going to pull?

Any hope of a Robert Griffin in the back pocket is Christmasian at best and insane otherwise. But being as we are in the deepest of the deep south. You have to wonder...

Would being an "Auburn man" have mattered so much if Scott Frost or Eric Crouch had the same sort of pedigree? You don't want to take the home run swing for Mike Leach? Fine. But instead of going for the guy who failed in the untenable situation, how about you go for the guy who won in a worse scenario?

...sigh.

This is why college football really blows. The BCS is just fun to bitch about. But until we see some generational replacement amongst the boosters in the literati? The African Americans only get the untenable.

A mediocre opportunity is too good for those people, am I right?

Antonio Bryant...

Is the #2 Receiver in Tampa Bay.

But you know what? The other Biletnikoff winner as a Sophomore has been flying under the radar in other ways as well. Did you know he was out of football last year? You did? Okay.

But did you know that he sued the NFL? It's true!

It seems as after 2006's impression of Bullitt that he ran in San Mateo, Antonio took his two game suspension and he took being cut, and decided that he was going to look into the mirror and make some changes. He was 26, and he had run himself off three teams already. He stopped taking his life seriously for most of the first half of the year of his unemployment.

But he looked in the mirror and realized what he needed to do. So he started to turn his life around. Antonio Bryant, finally, finally, was ready to reach his seemingly limitless potential. I know that it's his seventh chance, but the fact that he got there before it was too late.

And yet? He found himself with a problem. When he was ready to return to football, and sure that there was some team out there who needed his skills? The NFL wouldn't let him back in.

And this news bore little mention. You live in a world with Pac-Man Jones, Chris Henry, and Brandon Marshall acting a fool, and you have a player fighting with every ounce he has to keep the dream alive. And he gets no media attention.

This baffles me. Kind of. The sports media is whiter than Stuff White People Like. Antonio Bryant's preconceived notions have been set in stone. They're waiting for him to get into all sorts of shenanigans involving Heroin, a dude named Mendoza, and a fanboat chase.

I guess what I'm saying is this wouldn't happen if Stephen A. Smith was alive.

Hey B.J.?

Can I ask you a question? Really. Just one. Then I'll leave you be.

What the fuck? Seriously, what the fuck are you doing not hustling? You have a team that needs B.J. Upton to be at his most magical, and you can't be bothered to go at a level above a mosey?

That is wrong on so many levels. One, you're gonna get Cork Gaines mad at me. I can't have that on my conscience. He writes for MLB Trade Rumors, or did at one point. That means he's better than me!

Two, you know what this is? This is perpetuating stereotypes. Do you want the ALCU after you? What about Jesse Jackson? He will cut your nuts off! Do you want Carlos Mencia in blackface, sir?

You are one step away from Carlos Mencia doing a sketch about you. It's a lazy black dude. You're right in somebody else's wheelhouse of unfunny. You are on the level of the Asian who would ask if you want Flied Lice. That's just uncool.

Now, I know this is a probable detour. After all, you are still Bossman Junior. And unlike Chris Penn, this means you have all the potential to avoid being running buddies with Michael Madsen. But if you do not straighten up and fly right, mister...

You're looking at an unhappy itenerant future where no one likes you and you blame everything on the Latinos. Do you want that?

Of course you don't.
